What is Biodiversity Net Gain?
Biodiversity Net Gain (also known as BNG) legislation is designed to measurably improve the state of nature in England. Every new development must ensure when the works are completed that there will be a 10% biodiversity net gain. This will counteract any damage done during building works and enhance nature by at least 10% over 30 years.

Many developers cannot effectively do this on their building site. In which case they can purchase biodiversity net gain units. By working with Eco-logical Landscapes you can provide biodiversity net gain units for developers to buy. It's a complicated process that we will guide you through from start to finish. We take responsibility for all of the legal requirements, reporting, and advice on land management. Through this process you can:

-
Benefit from significant financial returns
-
Diversify your income whilst protecting nature
-
Experience the joy of seeing your land come alive with wildlife
-
Ensure your land is protected for the next generation
What is Nutrient Mitigation?
Nutrient mitigation is a legal requirement for new housing developments within certain sesitive areas including:

Chichester District Council, East Hampshire District Council, Havant Borough Council, Fareham Borough Council & the South Downs National Park.

The aim of the legislation is to minimise the amount of nutrients in our waterways and the sea to prevent eutrophication. Excess nutrients in the water accelerate the growth of plants and algae, causing oxygen depletion & reduced water quality, which is harmful to aquatic life. The regulations allow developers to purchase nutrient mitigation credits to reduce the impact of their development.
Landowners in appropriate locations (normally close to bodies of water in key areas) can lease land via Ecological Landscapes to developers to provide nitrate mitigation credits. Your land will be carefully managed to provide the maximum amount of nitrate mitigation possible to protect our waterways and to begin to rebalance the damage done.
